Every year, when the winter sun returns and our mild climate settles, a huge number of great little sportsmen and women arrive on the island. They are the players of LALIGA FC FUTURES, one of the main sporting events that Gran Canaria hosts. LALIGA FC FUTURES has become the most important U-12 football tournament in the world, and that’s no joke! Year after year the best youth teams of the best football clubs participate in this children’s tournament, which closes the year by bringing together a multitude of children who are promising stars of the global sport.

I came back so that life wouldn’t slip away from me unnoticed. I wanted to see sunrise and sunset every day, to sit and watch the ocean and keep looking for chimeras beyond the horizon. I lived in Düsseldorf for the last thirty years. Now I still work there, but looking out over the Las Canteras beach. I left Gran Canaria after finishing my degree in computer science. I used to come back every summer and also at Christmas. I never stopped coming at Christmas. Now I live here, and I travel to Germany, the United States or Japan to continue developing all the Artificial Intelligence programmes I am involved in.
I was one of the first to see the future in ChatGPT and I am still amongst those who know the most and can contribute the most to its advancement. That’s why I can live in Gran Canaria. I have earned a lot of money, and I decide the conditions of my contract.

Dear Santa,
My name is Sara, I’m 8 years old and I live in Gran Canaria. This year, I’m not going to ask you for toys or sweets. I just wish that everyone all around the world could enjoy Christmas! I want you to know that you are my favourite superhero and I’ve always wanted to see you, but this year more than ever.
What I’d like most is to take a sleigh ride around Gran Canaria with you and show you all the treasures on my island from the sky. The ride would be amazing because the trade winds, the sea breeze and the shooting stars would guide us the whole way. Oh Santa Claus! I’d love it so much! But maybe I’m just asking for the impossible…
